Analytic Programmer at RxAnte

Title:  Analytic Programmer

Company Profile

RxAnte is a mission-driven healthcare improvement company that helps healthcare organizations and individuals make better use of prescription medicines. Our patent-pending analytics and clinical programs help health plans, healthcare providers, and drug makers deliver more targeted, more effective, and more efficient medication adherence programs.  We are based in Portland, Maine but offer a flexible work environment with many of our employees working from home offices around the country.

Job Profile

As part of the Client Analytics team at RxAnte, you’ll be responsible for providing analytical and strategic support to multiple customers, both internal and external. Our primary data sources are administrative healthcare and pharmacy claims data, however; we also use our own proprietary data. When we need to answer difficult medical and pharmacy health care questions for our clients or make business decisions for ourselves, here’s what we’ll need from you.

  • Tell us what data we need to answer the questions we have.
  • Tell us the questions we can answer with the data we have and recommend additional sources when appropriate.
  • Aggregate data from multiple sources to create unique datasets.
  • Analyze the data and present a concise summary of the results annotated with the appropriate caveats.
  • Create meaningful tables/charts/graphs that can be analyzed and discussed with internal teams and then presented to clients in an accessible way.

Here’s why we think you’ll enjoy working with us:

  • You’ll be intellectually challenged. The problems you’ll be given are hard, the answers are not straightforward, and the timelines are tight.
  • Your work will be both independent and collaborative, which means you’ll have resources and support to chart a path forward, and the freedom to identify the best way to get there.
  • You’ll work with people who enjoy what they do and are good at doing it.
  • You’ll make a meaningful impact on improving the health and wellness of millions of patients.
  • We’ll measure you on your results rather than the number of hours you are putting in.

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in epidemiology, health services research, health policy, public health, mathematics/statistics, or other relevant fields is preferred. But, if you dropped out of school because you’re a self-taught, creative, and diligent problem solver, that works too!
  • Experience and interest coding in SAS. This is a requirement, we have a very small team and need people to be able to hit the ground running.
  • A basic understanding of statistics—if you don’t know what it takes for something to be significant, this position isn’t for you.
  • Experience working with large datasets, preferably in healthcare.
  • Lastly, you must reside in the United States, and pass a substance abuse screening (this does not include drugs that are prescribed by a physician—those ones are fine and we won’t be told if you are taking them).
